Celebrating Community and Connection: Our Power to Connect Christmas Night
As 2025 draws to a close, we took a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate everything we’ve achieved together at Power to Connect. This week, our volunteers, trustees, team members and supporters came together for a festive Christmas celebration – a chance to recognise the people powering digital inclusion across Wandsworth every single day.
The evening was a wonderful reminder that our impact goes far beyond devices and sessions. From free digital skills training in Wandsworth libraries to device refurbishment, volunteering, and community outreach, none of our work would be possible without the incredible people who give their time, skills and support.
We were thrilled to be hosted by Tapajax in Balham, who created the perfect setting for the night. The tapas, drinks, music and atmosphere made it a truly memorable celebration and a fitting way to close a year filled with digital skills courses, community partnerships and progress towards a more inclusive digital future.
Why Community Matters in Digital Inclusion
Our Christmas gathering brought together people involved in every part of our work – from Digital Champion volunteers supporting residents at Battersea Library, Southfields Library and other Wandsworth library locations, to volunteers helping with computer recycling charity efforts and laptop refurbishment.
Whether it’s delivering a basic IT skills course free of charge, supporting digital literacy courses across the borough, or helping families access devices through laptops for charity, this shared commitment is what makes real change possible.
Moments like this remind us why volunteering in Wandsworth is so powerful. Every conversation, every refurbished device, and every drop-in session helps someone gain confidence, stay safe online, or access essential services.
Looking Ahead to 2026
As we look towards the new year, we’re excited to continue expanding our free digital skills training UK programmes, growing our volunteer community, and increasing access to devices through donations and responsible recycling of electrical items.
If you’ve ever searched for “recycle computers near me” or wondered how to donate laptops UK-wide in a way that makes a real local impact, Power to Connect would love to hear from you. Donations of devices, funding, and time all help us deliver digital inclusion where it matters most.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration and to everyone who has supported our work throughout the year. Here’s to another year of connection, community and impact across Wandsworth.

Do you believe in digital inclusion and the importance of digital literacy? Please consider making a donation today and support our mission to ease the digital divide in Wandsworth.
