Our Volunteers Clock 229 Hours of Impact

Record Broken! Our Volunteers Clock 229 Hours of Impact 🥳

We have some truly record-breaking news to share! This March, our incredible network of volunteers donated a staggering 229 hours of their time to support our mission.

That doesn’t just beat our previous record of 157 hours (set back in November)—it completely smashes it! This surge in support is a testament to the growing spirit of volunteering in Wandsworth and the collective commitment to making our borough more digitally inclusive.

Every Hour Matters: What Our Volunteers Do

From the technical to the personal, every minute our volunteers spend with us directly helps bridge the digital divide. Their 229 hours were spent:

  • Refurbishing Tech: Working as a computer recycling charity, our team wipes and prepares devices for their new homes. This is a vital part of our sustainability initiatives, helping residents recycle computers near me and give electronics a second life.
  • Teaching Skills: Leading digital literacy courses in the UK and helping residents at our basic IT skills course (free) sessions.
  • Direct Support: Helping people get online for the first time at local hubs like Wandsworth LibraryBattersea Library, and Southfields Library.

A Win for Community Impact and ESG

For our corporate partners, these milestones are more than just numbers; they represent tangible social value. Volunteer hours are a key metric in any robust ESG strategy or CSR strategy, proving that dedicated employee engagement and corporate volunteering lead to real-world community impact.

By supporting Power to Connect, businesses contribute to long-term sustainability goals while ensuring local families have access to the hardware and digital skills training they need to thrive.
