Celebrating the People Powering Digital Inclusion: Meet Our Trustees
This Trustees Week, we’re celebrating the incredible people behind Power to Connect – our trustees.
Our board of trustees volunteer their time, skills, and expertise to guide our mission and ensure we continue to have real, lasting impact across Wandsworth. From bridging the digital divide to delivering free digital skills training in the UK, their leadership helps us grow sustainably, stay community-focused, and reach even more families in need of digital access and support.
Their collective knowledge spans education, technology, sustainability, and community development – and together, they play a vital role in helping us make digital inclusion a reality for everyone.
Leading the Way in Digital Inclusion
Under the guidance of our trustees, Power to Connect has grown from a local response to digital inequality into a thriving charity and training network.
Through their vision and governance, we’ve been able to expand our digital literacy courses UK and basic IT skills course free sessions across libraries and community venues – including Wandsworth Library, Battersea Library, and Southfields Library.
These programmes have supported thousands of local residents to build confidence with technology, access online services, and develop new career-ready digital skills.
Alongside this, our computer recycling initiatives have helped us securely refurbish and redistribute donated devices to families who need them most – promoting sustainability while reducing e-waste.
Real Impact Across Wandsworth
Thanks to the direction and commitment of our trustees, Power to Connect has:
- Redistributed nearly 5,000 donated laptops and devices to local families.
- Delivered hundreds of digital skills courses and one-to-one support sessions.
- Prevented thousands of electronic items from going to landfill through our recycling electrical items programme.
- Supported local volunteers through our growing volunteering Wandsworth network.
Their leadership ensures that every decision we make helps advance digital inclusion and empower people to learn, work, and connect online.
