From a Single Click to Lifelong Learning: Renford’s Digital Journey

Five months ago, Renford walked into our Digital Drop-In with one clear goal in mind: to book a GP appointment online.

Like many people navigating modern online services, he found the system a bit complicated and simply needed a supportive hand to get started. After hearing about our weekly sessions from a friend at his local church, he decided to give them a try.

Fast forward five months, and Renford is still coming back every single week!

What started as a quick session to tackle one everyday task has blossomed into a genuine passion for learning and self-improvement.

Building Skills and Boosting Confidence

With a device provided through our hardware donation scheme and ongoing support from our friendly team, Renford’s confidence has soared. He now regularly uses platform tools like iDEA to complete short digital skills courses, continually building his knowledge and mastering skills that once felt completely out of reach.

“His story is a powerful reminder that true digital inclusion is about so much more than just getting online. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation, a welcoming space, and the right support to unlock someone’s potential.”

Today, Renford isn’t just using technology to manage daily life – he’s using it to keep learning, challenge himself, and discover new opportunities.

How You Can Help Bridge the Digital Divide

Renford’s transformation was made possible through community support, device donations, and dedicated volunteers. If you or your organization want to create similar success stories, here is how you can get involved:
