Bridging the Gap: Empowering ESOL Learners with English & Digital Skills

At Power to Connect, we believe that true digital inclusion requires more than just a device… it requires the confidence to use it. That’s why we are incredibly proud of our free English & Digital Skills course, delivered in partnership with the brilliant team at CARAS (Community Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers).

Learning, Confidence, and Connection

This specialised course is designed to support ESOL learners (English for Speakers of Other Languages) as they navigate the digital landscape. In a friendly and supportive environment, participants learn to get comfortable with technology, focusing on:

  • Laptop Basics: Moving from a smartphone to a computer with ease.
  • Communication Tools: Mastering email and video calls to stay connected.
  • Essential Digital Tools: Learning how to access services and information safely.

It is truly inspiring to see our learners grow in confidence week by week. By combining language support with a basic IT skills course for free, we are helping residents unlock new opportunities for work, education, and community life.

Supporting Digital Literacy in Wandsworth

Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our borough has the digital literacy courses in the UK they need to thrive. Whether it’s through our partnerships with local libraries like Wandsworth LibraryBattersea Library, or Southfields Library, or through targeted sessions like our ESOL course, we are dedicated to closing the digital divide.
