Recently, we received a message from a refugee supported by Wandsworth Welcomes Refugees after receiving a refurbished laptop through our donation programme. Their words perfectly capture why our work – and your donations – matter so much:

This quote reminds us that when you donate laptops in the UK, you’re not just passing on a piece of tech – you’re giving someone the chance to learn, find work, and connect with loved ones. Every laptop we receive is refurbished by our volunteers and distributed through local partners to people who need them most.
Alongside our donation programme, Power to Connect also delivers free digital skills training in the UK through our community sessions at Wandsworth Library, Battersea Library, and Southfields Library. These digital literacy courses help residents gain confidence with everyday online tasks – from using email and applying for jobs to accessing healthcare and education resources.
Our Digital Champions lead these sessions and are an amazing example of volunteering in Wandsworth at its best. They help local people build basic IT skills while creating a welcoming space to learn, share, and grow.
