Celebrating Our Essential Digital Skills Graduates

Empowering the Community: Celebrating Our Essential Digital Skills Graduates

At Power to Connect, there is nothing more rewarding than watching confidence grow through technology. We are thrilled to announce that our Essential Digital Skills course, delivered in partnership with CARAS, has officially wrapped up after four inspiring weeks!

This program was designed to tackle the “digital divide” head-on by providing free digital skills training in the UK to those who need it most. By the end of the final session, our learners didn’t just walk away with new knowledge—they walked away with the tools to change their futures.

More Than Just Basic IT Skills

Over the last month, attendees moved beyond the basics to master the tools required for the modern world. Our digital literacy courses covered:

  • Effective AI Usage: Learning how to use emerging technology to simplify daily tasks.
  • Online Safety: Building the confidence to navigate the web securely.
  • Google Workspace: Mastering professional tools for education and employment.
  • Online Applications: Navigating the hurdles of digital job and support forms.

To ensure their journey didn’t end with the course, every graduate received a free refurbished Chromebook. Providing these laptops for charity ensures that lack of hardware never stands in the way of progress.

Supporting Digital Inclusion in Wandsworth

This course is a key part of our mission to improve digital inclusion across the borough. We believe that everyone—regardless of their background—deserves the chance to learn basic IT skills in a supportive environment.

Whether we are hosting sessions at Battersea Library, Southfields Library, or other Wandsworth Library hubs, our goal remains the same: ensuring no one is left behind in an increasingly digital world.

How Your Business Can Create Social Value

Success stories like these are only possible through strong charity partnerships and the generosity of the local community. If your organization is looking to enhance its ESG strategy or meet sustainability goals, here is how you can get involved:

  • Donate Laptops: We help companies recycle computers and recycle electrical items safely, turning e-waste into social impact.
  • Corporate Volunteering: We offer meaningful volunteering opportunities for teams looking to boost employee engagement through community programmes.
  • CSR Strategy: Partnering with us allows for transparent impact reporting, showing exactly how your sustainability initiatives are helping the local community.

What’s Next?

A huge thank you to CARAS, our incredible volunteers, and our dedicated learners for making this course a success.

If you or your organization want to support our next round of digital skills courses, or if you are looking to donate laptops in the UK, we would love to connect. Your “old tech” is the key to someone else’s “new start.”
