We are working to deliver digital equality in Wandsworth

Power to Connect believes that everyone deserves equal access to technology. It’s our job to ensure every young resident has access to the same connectivity, tech and skills, irrespective of their background.

Our Story

In April 2020, Power to Connect was set up as a partnership between Wandsworth Council and Battersea Power Station (BPSDC).

We set out to raise awareness of digital exclusion and to support local families across Wandsworth who were struggling to access home-schooling due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Incorporated as an independent Community Interest Company in May 2020, we have collected, updated and delivered laptops, tablets and desktop computers to schools and community organisations in Wandsworth, so far delivering over 2,000.

In September 2020, Power to Connect was awarded the Community Impact Award at the Tech4Good Awards by AbilityNet, sponsored by BT.

Over 2 years on we’re on a mission to provide technology and skills to parts of the community that are digitally excluded, helping to close the digital divide.

We are committed to continue to work with local businesses, residents and corporate partners to recycle, refurbish and redistribute more devices to children and young people in Wandsworth. We continue to develop our Digital Skills Training and support to those who need it most to ensure Wandsworth is a truly digital inclusive borough.
